Will Huntsville's most iconic musician debut new songs at the Round Top Folk Festival? Seems like there's a decent shot, given this new fest's name and the fact blues standout "Microwave" Dave Gallaher has been writing folk-style songs lately. One sure bet: The views at Round Top's site, Burritt on the Mountain, atop Monte Sano will be picturesque. Microwave Dave, featured in a new book forwarded by Stephen King, performs 6 p.m. Friday at the festival. Jammy roots combo Valley Road Bluegrass Band is 2 p.m. Saturday. Round Top will also have food trucks, craft beer and traditional craft demonstrations from Burritt Folk School instructors, in subjects such as pottery and blacksmithing.

Round Top Folk Festival, 6 – 8 p.m. Nov. 5, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Nov. 6, Burritt on the Mountain, 3101 Burritt Drive S.E., $25 Friday ($20 for Burritt members) $12 Saturday (free for members) $35 weekend pass ($20 for members), burrittonthemountain.com

SarahJayne, formerly with Buckingham Nicks-ish duo The Retrovales, now fronts her own band, Jayne & The Huntsmen. The group's performance was a highlight of buzzy first-year local event Porch Fest this summer. The musical vibe? A tangle of folk, country-rock and alternative. As a songwriter, SarahJayne has found lyrical inspiration in everything from a TV show she's embarrassed she watched (as on her tune "Uninvited") to wanderlust ("Gypsy Heart").

Jayne & The Huntsmen, 10 p.m. Oct. 22, Voodoo Lounge, 110 South Side Square, free to attend, voodooloungehsv.com/calendar

Nashville singer/bassist Jasmine Cain has a big voice and big hooks. Her 2020 album "Seven" is filled with sharp-sleek rock. Standout tracks include the hard-charger "Burnout" and anthems-in-waiting "Be Brave" and "Real World." Cain brings her FM-ready sound to local rock bar Shagnasty's. Pennsylvania rap-metal band Hate Grenade opens the show.
